OKAY SERIOUSLY radio 4 is actually the best thing, I would consider it my new fandom if I could only find a way of shipping the pip pip pips that precede the news with the archers theme tune. So far this morning there has been an utterly delightful segment about the real life Butch Cassidy and Sundance kid - a lot of what happens in the film is actually true, except that when they went to Bolivia they managed to go straight for FIVE YEARS, they bought land and became quite well-respected cattle ranchers in the Andes (MAY I JUST SAY THE MAGICAL WORDS GAY COWBOYS, need I say more I think not). The guy talking about them was so enthusiastic! And now! now. There is a programme about Ennio Morricone, guys! Alison Goldfrapp talking about how his music inspires her, and frankly now she has pointed it out it seems fairly obvious - and Anne Billson! I like Anne Billson.

THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS! AMAZING FILM! morricone's score, I totally did not realise that was him, the score for that is incredible - UNGH. I advise you all to go to 'listen again' as the kids are calling it these days (and by kids I mean my mother). The man is eighty

(the Butch Cassidy/Sundance bit was on Excess Baggage, the link to listen is over here)
(ETA BECAUSE OH MY GOD: I APPARENTLY MISSED THE BEGINNING OF THIS PROGRAMME AND ACTUALLY YELPED BECAUSE, UM, I AM GOING TO CUT THIS: Read more... )
